Samsung appears to copy the most significant feature of iOS 16, which has been spotted in the third beta of One UI 5.0. As you have noticed in the upper image, this feature is lock screen customization.

As we all know, Apple has recently released iOS 16, which came with many new features, but its most significant feature was lock screen customization, whose copying is now beginning.

Samsung’s third One UI 5.0 beta arrived late last week, and users have started noticing that the lock screen customization options look pretty darn similar to those introduced by Apple in iOS 16 earlier this month (via 9to5Mac). While Samsung has been letting users customize their lock screens for years now, whether through its Good Lock app or its One UI system, its most recent update seems to take a lot of inspiration from Apple (although inspiration can flow in both directions).

Lock screen customization is one of the biggest changes in iOS 16, as Apple introduced widgets, new wallpaper options, and the ability to tweak everything from font type, colors, wallpaper filters, and more. The latest version of the beta gives Samsung users more control over the placement of the clock, as well as introduces an array of font and color options. Samsung Copied iOS 16’s Popular Feature In One UI 5.0 Beta

It’s important to keep in mind that One UI 5 is not the first version of Samsung’s software to have a customizable lock screen interface.

It was already available in previous versions, but the latest One UI 5 beta gave it a little upgrade by copying and pasting iOS 16’s lock screen interface into the system.

This little boost to Samsung owners’ lock screens continues the pattern of Samsung mocking Apple as soon as it releases a new iPhone or iOS update, only to copy its style later.

At least Samsung owners, and Android users by extension, now have the same customization privileges iPhone users enjoy.

Besides, One UI 5.0 also has some other new changes and improvements, such as app opening and closing animations performing faster & smooth than earlier.

Also, there are improvements in the animations of shifting from the lock screen to always on display.

In the future, we might also see other smartphone brands’ Android 13-based operating systems, such as RealmeUI and ColorOS, introduce the same kind of feature, but it wasn’t found in MIUI 14.

At the same time, many other smartphone brands and app developers are also trying to create Dynamic Island for supported Android smartphones.

However, if you dig deeper, you do start to notice that Samsung did indeed copy iOS 16. Even Vaibhav pointed it out that Good Lock was never officially part of Samsung’s UI, it was more like a module that you would have to install separately.

Sure, we did know that One UI 5.0/Android 13 was going to be heavy on customization but this is not something that one could simply consider a bad timing for Samsung to bring this feature out.

The One UI 5.0 is still in a beta stage, so we will have to wait for Samsung to actually release the update and see what has changed.

How do I turn my Samsung to iOS?

On your Android device, open the Move to iOS app. If you don’t have the Move to iOS app, you can tap the QR code button on your new iOS device and scan the QR code using the camera on your Android device to open the Google Play Store. Tap Continue, and read the terms and conditions that appear. To continue, tap Agree.

Is iOS and Samsung the same?

Android is now the world’s most commonly used smartphone platform and is used by many different phone manufacturers. iOS is only used on Apple devices, such as the iPhone. Check out the latest iPhone deals, and deals on Samsung phones and Google Pixel phones on Amazon.

Can I run iOS on Android?

Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to download or install iOS on your Android device. Popular Apple applications such as Facetime and iMessage are exclusive to Apple devices so you can’t really use those on Android, even with an emulator
